Conduct

The Urban Innovation Fund believes that diverse backgrounds and experiences within our team and investment portfolio make us all stronger. We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive work environment. To that end, we will promptly take appropriate remedial action to address issues of harassment or discrimination when they are brought to our attention. This includes harassment or discrimination based on sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, race, religion, age, nationality, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. The Urban Innovation Fund may take disciplinary action against staff who fail to follow this policy. Possible consequences include reprimand, demotion, suspension or termination, and detraction of benefits for a definite or indefinite time. While the Urban Innovation Fund may not have direct control over portfolio company personnel, we are committed to a policy of influencing our portfolio companies to act consistently with the policy outlined above, when possible.

The Urban Innovation Fund will not allow retaliation against anyone, internal or external, who makes a complaint under this policy. No person will be adversely affected in their employment with the Urban Innovation Fund or evaluation by the Urban Innovation Fund for possible investment as a result of making a complaint under this policy. Further, employees and contract workers are protected by law from retaliation for reporting unlawful harassment or discrimination. To confidentially report any incident involving an Urban Innovation Fund staff member or portfolio company employee, please contact Julie Lein (julie@urbaninnovationfund.com) or Clara Brenner (clara@urbaninnovationfund.com).
